Code of Conduct & Guidelines for We Grow Well Network

The We Grow Well Network is a community dedicated to empowering Black and Indigenous Black people in America to live healthier, more sustainable, and fulfilling lives through urban agriculture and health & wellness. We strive to create a safe, inclusive, and respectful online space where members can connect, share knowledge, and support each other.

This Code of Conduct outlines the expectations for all members of the We Grow Well Network community. By joining the network, you agree to abide by these principles and to contribute to a positive and productive online environment.

  • Respect: Treat all members with respect, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or any other personal characteristic. Refrain from discriminatory or offensive language and behavior.
  • Inclusivity: Foster an inclusive environment where all members feel welcome and valued. Celebrate diversity and encourage participation from all segments of the Black and Indigenous Black community.
  • Authenticity: Be genuine and authentic in your interactions with others. Avoid misrepresenting yourself or your experiences.
  • Accountability: Take responsibility for your actions and words. Be willing to address concerns raised by other members and to learn from mistakes.

Content: Refrain from posting or sharing content that is:

  • Hateful or discriminatory: Promotes hatred, violence, or discrimination against any individual or group.
  • Offensive or disturbing: Contains graphic violence, sexual content, or other material that may be considered harmful or upsetting to others.
  • False or misleading:Contains misinformation or deliberately misrepresents facts.

Online Behavior:

  • Communicate respectfully: Use polite and respectful language in all interactions with others. Avoid personal attacks, insults, or bullying.
  • Maintain privacy: Respect the privacy of other members. Do not share personal information without their consent.
  • Use appropriate channels: Use the designated channels for specific types of communication. Avoid posting off-topic content or flooding the platform with irrelevant messages.

E-commerce and Marketplace:

  • Act as a responsible buyer and seller: Conduct transactions with honesty and integrity. Fulfill your obligations as a buyer or seller promptly and in accordance with the terms of the platform.
  • Protect your information: Be mindful of the information you share online. Avoid sharing sensitive financial or personal information publicly.

Offline and Sponsored Events:

  • Represent the platform with respect: When representing the We Grow Well Network at offline or sponsored events, conduct yourself in a way that upholds the values of the community.
  • Be mindful of others: Be respectful of other attendees and organizers. Follow event guidelines and avoid disruptive behavior.

Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in one or more of the following actions:

  • Warning: A notification from the platform administrators regarding the violation.
  • Removal of content:Removal of content that violates the Code of Conduct.
  • Temporary suspension of membership: Suspension of access to the platform for a specified period.
  • Permanent termination of membership: Permanent removal from the platform.

The severity of the consequences will depend on the nature and severity of the violation.

If you witness or experience a violation of this Code of Conduct, please report it to the platform administrators using the designated reporting mechanism. All reports will be handled confidentially and investigated promptly.

We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and empowering community for all members of the We Grow Well Network. We will regularly review and update this Code of Conduct to ensure that it remains relevant and effective.
